ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 5. In August 2025, Kazakhstan's business activity decelerated to an index level of 51.1, although it sustained positive growth momentum, maintaining expansionary conditions since March 2024, said Rustem Orazalin, Director of the Business Conditions Department of Kazakhstan’s National Bank, Trend reports via Kazakhstan’s National Bank.
In manufacturing, business activity noticeably improved, with the index rising to 53.8 (from 51.9 in July). In services and trade, activity slightly slowed, but the indicators also remain in the positive zone at 51.4 and 51.3, respectively (in July – 52.3 and 52.9). In the construction and mining industries, the situation remained almost unchanged – 47.9 and 48.2, respectively (in July – 47.5 and 48.4).
The Business Climate Index (BCI) in Kazakhstan for August 2025 slightly increased to 11.9 due to improved assessments of current business conditions. At the same time, there was some decrease in optimism regarding future conditions. Overall, the indicator is evaluated positively. The business cycle “hours” indicator remains in the growth area.
