BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will continue to assist the government of Azerbaijan in implementing its post-COP29 action plan, Trend reports citing the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Country Partnership Strategy for Azerbaijan for 2025-2029.
ADB will continue to support the government in its 2024 Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) Presidency through TA, which includes advice and knowledge support on the core issues for negotiation and preparing the first Azerbaijan Biennial Transparency Report.
ADB will continue to assist the government in implementing its post-COP29 action plan and support Azerbaijan in carbon market development. This includes the regional level, consistent with the priorities outlined in ADB’s Climate Action Roadmap for Central and West Asia (2024) and the CAREC Climate Change Action Plan (2024).
ADB will help reduce disaster risks by strengthening disaster risk governance, improving disaster preparedness, creating multi-hazard early warning systems, and financing disaster risk management.
