BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will explore opportunities for green mobility through railway, metro, and road asset monetization projects in Azerbaijan, Trend reports citing the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Country Partnership Strategy for Azerbaijan for 2025-2029.
“The government’s priorities include establishing low-carbon transport connections to strengthen its regional logistics position and generate sustainable income prospects for underdeveloped regions,” reads the document.
ADB will support the modernization of rail connections—including their digitalization, electrification, and signaling—in anticipation of the unblocking of regional transport gateways.
“Advancing underdeveloped areas requires rebuilding essential climate and disaster-resilient infrastructure and showcasing innovation by creating zero-emission zones and sustainable management of natural capital,” said the Bank.
