Kazakhstan will launch the third satellite of KazSat system in the first quarter of 2014, Chairman of Kazakh National Space Agency Kazcosmos Talgat Mussabayev told Kazakh Prime Minister's website.
This satellite will be able to render the paid telecommunication services to neighboring countries.
"KazSat-3 will be spare and at the same operating satellite, which will ensure regular work of the satellite system. Moreover, the two satellites will be able to fully meet the demand for the radio frequency resources in Kazakhstan, and the third satellite will be able to render the paid services to Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Russia," the head of Kazcosmos said.
KazSat-3 satellite will be launched from Kazakhstan's Baikonur cosmodrome.
KazSat satellite system will allow solving the problem of communication and broadcasting across Kazakhstan and give an impetus to the development of the communications industry, communications and multimedia services, such as the Internet, 3G, digital TV, IP-telephony, etc.
According to Kazcosmos, KazSat-2 satellite operates at 64 percent of its full capacity.
