Baku Telephone Communications LLC, Azerbaijan’s state communications operator, has launched wireless broadband internet network using the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) technology for commercial operation, a source in Azerbaijan’s telecommunications market told Trend March 29.
Tariffs for the service vary depending on the data transfer rate, which can reach 50 Mbps (20 manats per month).
Residents of three settlements of Baku will be able to connect to the LTE network, according to the source.
“In order to connect to the LTE network, it will be necessary to contact the telecommunications centers of the operator,” the source said.
The cost of the equipment required for the service is 200 manats, and the connection to the service will cost 35 manats.
It was previously reported that until the end of the year, the operator plans to significantly expand the coverage of the LTE network and increase the number of subscribers.
