Private radio channels in Azerbaijan may take advantage of the alternative television tower to ensure uninterrupted broadcasting of their programs, Teleradio Production Union of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend.
At the present time, all the TV channels included in the free package, "Radio Respublika" and "Ictimai Radio" are being broadcast via the alternative television tower.
The backup tower was commissioned in early 2018. The tower is located in the Narimanov district of Baku and is connected to Baku's central TV tower. The height of the alternative tower is 140 meters.
The main goal of the alternative TV tower is to ensure uninterrupted broadcasting of state TV and radio channels in case of any possible problems.
