The number of websites registered in the .az domain zone increased by 6.8 percent since early 2019 and reached 33,347, according to WHOIS.az (domain name registration catalogue), Trend reports.
Thus, 31,096 websites of the total number of registered websites accounted for internet resources registered in the top-level domain. This is by 14.7 percent more compared to early 2019.
The most popular second level domain is .com.az, where some 1,268 websites were registered (8.7 percent growth). The third most popular is the .edu.az domain with 440 websites.
The number of websites registered in .edu.az increased by 19.9 percent.
The national domain zone .az officially started operating on Aug. 25, 1993. The registration of .az costs 20 manats. The annual cost of technical support is the same.
