BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. Azerbaijan's consumers spent 191.8 million manat ($112.8 million) from January through March 2025 on computers, telecommunications equipment, and printed products.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that this represents a significant rise compared to the same period last year, with an increase of over 25.2 million manat ($14.8 million) or more than 15.1 percent.
The sector's total share of trade turnover amounted to 1.3 percent during the reporting period.
Moreover, in the first quarter, retail sales in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.6 billion manat ($8.5 million), including 8.1 billion manat ($4.7 million) in food products, beverages, and tobacco products, and 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 million)in non-food items. Compared to the same period in 2024, retail trade turnover saw a real increase of 3.8 percent, with food products, beverages, and tobacco showing a rise of 1.7 percent, and non-food goods increasing by 6.3 percent.
