Kazakh SCAT Airlines is going to launch a direct flight between Astana and Prague, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
The press service of the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan’s Industry and Infrastructural Development Ministry informed that the flights will be carried out from June 2 with a frequency of 2 times a week (Thursdays and Sundays). The flight duration will be 5 hours and 30 minutes.
"The opening of the direct flight will contribute to the expansion of ties and contacts between the business circles of the two countries, enhancing of investment, trade and economic cooperation, as well as tourist exchange," the press service said.
It should be noted that every year about 100,000 Kazakh tourists visit the Czech Republic, and more than 2,000 students from Kazakhstan study at Czech universities.
Presently, SCAT Airlines, which is one of the largest airlines in Kazakhstan, operates passenger flights within Kazakhstan, as well as to Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Lithuania, China and Armenia.
The airline's fleet consists of 15 Boeing and 6 Bombardier aircraft. Annually SCAT Airlines opens up to 10 new flights, with an average increase in passenger traffic by 40 percent.
