It is planned to expand the production of GAZ vehicles on the platform of Azerbaijan’s Azermash company, Aleksey Slavin, representative of the Russian GAZ Group, told Trend.
“GAZ presents and manufactures a range of Gazelle NEXT, GAZon NEXT cars, and several types of buses in the Azerbaijani market on the Azermash platform,” Slavin added.
“Moreover, we want to expand the range of new models of GAZ vehicles in Azerbaijan,” the representative of the Russian GAZ Group said. “It is also planned to launch the production of environmentally friendly GAZ buses, which will be presented next month in Azerbaijan.”
“The production of GAZelle NEXT Citiline (6.6 meters) buses, GAZelle Next 65 (school bus) has been established in Azerbaijan,” Slavin said. “It is planned to start to assemble GAZ Vector Next buses soon."
“After the expansion of activity and the issuance of certificates to the Azerbaijani side, it is planned to organize the assembly of big buses up to 18-meter,” the representative of the Russian GAZ Group said.
"Presently, the production of GAZ cars in Azerbaijan is aimed at renewing the domestic vehicle fleet,” Slavin said. “We want to start to export the cars, which are manufactured in Azerbaijan, abroad, but it is necessary to fully meet the demand of the local market.”
“Moreover, the production capacity at the Azermash platform is about 1,000 GAZ cars per year,” Slavin said.
