TEHRAN, Iran, October 31. Various countries are ready to invest in developing the Chabahr Railway project, the Vice President of Civil Commission in the Iranian Parliament Esmael Hosseinzehi told Trend.
Zahedan-Khash railway is to be inaugurated by the President in the near future, adding that all the preparations have been completed, and the construction for the rest of the Chabahr Railway project.
Chabahr railway construction had 60 percent progress, however, it requires more credit that is partly financed by the National Development Fund, he noted.
Hosseinzehi predicted that the construction of the Chabahar Railway project will be complete in the next one or one and a half years if sufficient credit was provided for the construction.
He pointed out that the project needs about 2.4 trillion rials (about $571 million) to be complete and the Chabahar Railway project could attract foreign investments.
According to the MP, Russia and China are ready to invest in Chabahar Railway however the possible foreign investment depends on the government's decision.
Responding to the possible investment of India in the Chabahar Railway project, the official indicated that India has only invested in the development of Chabahr port.
