ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 19. Kazakhstan is launching a transit tracking system within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), said Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiyev at a Government meeting, Trend reports.
According to him, an information system called "Transit" has been created to implement the project, which allows real-time monitoring of cargo.
As the minister noted, this system has passed all cybersecurity tests and is also integrated with the information systems of all EAEU countries. Currently, its integration with the State Revenue Committee’s systems is being finalized.
“At the first stage, the system will allow control of about 6 percent of the total cargo flow at Kazakhstan’s seven external borders. This solution will help prevent ‘fake transit’ schemes. An expert review of the national operator’s tariffs is underway. Procurement and leasing of navigation seals are being carried out,” Madiyev said.
The implementation of the "Transit" system will be an important step in increasing transparency and efficiency of logistics within the EAEU, which contributes to strengthening trust between member countries and reducing the risks of transport rule violations. It is expected that full integration and expanded functionality of the system will significantly increase the share of controlled cargo and enhance the security of transit transportation in the region.
