A ban has been imposed on the export of certain types of timber from Kazakhstan, Trend reports on Oct.19 citing Kazinform.
The ban was introduced to suppress unauthorized re-export of timber of Russian origin and to provide Kazakh enterprises with raw materials. It applies to certain types of timber, regardless of the country of origin, and will be valid for six months.
Besides, at the meeting of the commission, a proposal was approved to automatically extend the restrictions every six months until a decision is made to lift the moratorium on the export of timber.
