ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 31. More than $12 billion of investments have been attracted to Kazakhstan through the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) platform, which exceeds the target set by 2025, said AIFC governor Renat Bekturov, Trend reports.

He made the remark during a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"To date, more than $12 billion of investments have been attracted to Kazakhstan through the financial center platform, which exceeds the target set by 2025. Over the entire period of the center’s activity, AIFC participants transferred 115 billion tenge (about $242 million) to the country’s budget, of which 29.8 billion tenge (about $62.7 million) were paid for the first half of 2024," he said.

Bekturov noted that the main factors contributing to the growth of tax revenues are the increase in the number of participants and the intensification of their activities.

"In the first half of this year, more than 500 companies joined the AIFC, which increased the total number of participants to almost 3,000 and made a significant contribution to the creation of new jobs. As of the end of the second quarter of 2024, more than 7,600 jobs were created by companies in the AIFC jurisdiction," he said.

He also informed about the progress of preparations for the annual event Astana Finance Days 2024, which will be held on September 5–6 this year.

Meanwhile, the volume of investments in Kazakhstan's fixed capital increased by 13.7 percent and amounted to $39.5 billion in 2023.

Kazakhstan plans to implement 326 investment projects in 2024. These investment projects will cost a total of 3.8 trillion tenge (about $8.5 billion).
