ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 3. All planned work is being carried out at the construction site of the gas processing plant at the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan, said First Deputy Chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz (Kazakhstan's national company) Meirbek Ikhsanov, Trend reports, citing the press service of QazaqGaz.
He made the remark during Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov's visit to the construction site of the gas processing plant.
"To date, all planned work is being carried out at the gas processing plant construction site. More than 1,000 workers and about 150 units of special equipment are involved in the project implementation process. Piling work has been completed; concreting of foundation parts of buildings and technological structures is carried out; installation of process equipment has begun; installation of metal structures of technological structures has begun," he said.
As he noted, construction of a shift camp for 320 places and an access railway is also underway. Roads and railways, as well as water supply and power lines, have been installed for uninterrupted construction.
"For the first time in Kazakhstan, the facility is implementing closed-type flare technology, which will ensure smokeless and silent combustion of exhaust gases," he noted.
Ikhsanov also pointed out that the company is actively working together with its Qatari partner, UCC Holding.
Meanwhile, construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 1 billion cubic meters is underway at the Kashagan field. The plant plans to be commissioned in the second half of 2026.
At the same time, by 2030, it is planned to commission a new gas processing plant with a capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters at the Kashagan field.
