ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 5. A Chinese Jianlong group of companies is exploring the possibility of opening a plant to produce steel and steel products in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

This was stated during a meeting of the Managing Director of KAZAKH INVEST, Azamat Kozhanov, and Director of Projects Department, Bauyrzhan Aitkulov, with representatives of the Chinese group of companies.

In turn, Kozhanov told the Chinese representatives about the measures of state support and Kazakhstan's investment climate and also presented the potential for implementing projects in heavy industry.

"We are introducing a new approach to attracting investment, where we identify priority industries taking into account the country’s competitive advantages, which is steel production. We plan to attract investors with ready-made investment proposals in these industries. In this regard, we are ready to provide the necessary assistance in finding potential projects for producing steel and further processing steel products," he said.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to cooperate to implement promising projects.

The Fortune Global 500 Jianlong Group is one of China's largest steel producers with a complete industrial chain. The group's structure currently includes 14 metallurgical plants in China and abroad with a combined capacity of about 42 million tons of steel. Jianlong also engages in logistics, trade, vanadium and titanium production, and equity investments.
