BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 21. Astana International Exchange (AIX) has listed $10 million worth of sukuk issued by Uzbekistan's Alif Moliya Sukuk SPC Limited.

According to the exchange, the transaction supports AIX’s objective of advancing Islamic finance in the region and broadening financing opportunities for issuers across Central Asia.

AIX CEO Assel Mukazhanova said the listing marked an important milestone in the development of regional capital markets and Islamic finance.

“The issuance of Sukuk by Alif Moliya on AIX represents an important milestone in the development of regional capital markets and Islamic finance. It demonstrates the potential for cross-border cooperation and provides an additional avenue for issuers to access capital through our platform. We look forward to supporting further transactions that broaden financing opportunities and strengthen the region’s capital markets,” she said.

The issuance is aligned with AIX’s roadmap for the further development of the Islamic capital market, presented at the third meeting of the Islamic Finance Advisory Board (IFAB) during Astana Finance Days 2026.

The roadmap focuses on strengthening the sukuk pipeline, attracting issuers and investors, exploring cross-listing opportunities and further developing market infrastructure.

AIX was established in 2017 as part of the development of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). Its shareholders are the AIFC, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Silk Road Fund and Nasdaq. The exchange operates within a regulatory framework based on the principles of English law, providing an investment environment based on those principles.

The AIFC is an independent jurisdiction connecting investors and businesses with opportunities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia in a transparent and sustainable environment underpinned by the principles of English common law.
