Cement production picks up in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 2. A total of 2.312 million tons of cement were produced in Kyrgyzstan from January to September 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the country's National Statistical Committee reveals that this figure marked a 6.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 when 2.168 million tons were produced.

In September 2023, Kyrgyzstan produced 295,800 tons of cement, which is 3 percent higher than the same period in 2022 when 287,100 tons were produced.

At the same time, the total industrial production value in Kyrgyzstan reached over 331.4 billion soms ($3.710 billion) from January through September 2023, increasing by 7 percent compared to the same period in 2022. The volume also increased by 0.7 percent when compared to the corresponding months of 2022.

Within the overall composition of industrial production, processing industries, including cement manufacturing, accounted for 77.2 percent.

The production value of the processing industries amounted to over 255.9 billion soms ($2.8 billion) during these nine months.
