Production of cement and bricks in Kyrgyzstan sees upswing

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 9. Kyrgyzstan produced a total of 2.057 million tons of cement from January through August 2024, Trend reports.

According to the country's State Statistical Committee, the figure rose by 1.9 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, when production was 2.020 million tons.

In August alone, the country produced 375,000 tons of cement, which is 18.7 percent higher than the 315,800 tons produced in August 2023.

During the same period, Kyrgyzstan also produced 102.5 million bricks, which is a 28.5 percent increase from 79.7 million bricks in the first eight months of 2023.

As regards to bricks, in August, the country produced 24 million bricks, a 30.5 percent rise compared to the 18.4 million bricks made in August 2023.

Kyrgyzstan's industrial output for January through August 2024 reached over 330 billion soms ($3.19 billion), which is a 0.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
