BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 10. Kyrgyzstan exported 196,460 tons of cement to Uzbekistan from January through July 2024, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee indicates that this figure decreased by 29.2 percent compared to 277,515 tons in the same months of 2023.
The value of the exports amounted to $5.474 million, a decline of 50.5 percent compared to $11.066 million in the corresponding months of 2023.
During the eight months of the current year, Uzbekistan was the sole country importing cement from Kyrgyzstan.
To note, Kyrgyzstan produced a total of 2.057 million tons of cement from January through August 2024. The figure rose by 1.9 percent compared to the same period in 2023, when production was 2.020 million tons.
As regards Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover from January through July 2024, it amounted to $8.8 billion, which is a 4.7 percent increase year on year. Exports decreased by 3.7 percent to $1.6 billion, while imports increased by 6.7 percent to $7.217 billion.
