BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 26. Kyrgyzstan exported 68,165 tons of potatoes from January through November 2024, which is twice as much as in the same period of 2023 (33,950 tons), Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that the value of exports totaled $9.346 million, which is a 78.2 percent increase from $5.244 million in January-November 2023.

The largest share of potatoes was exported to Uzbekistan – 57,789 tons (up by 99.4 percent year-on-year), followed by Kazakhstan with 9,379 tons (a twofold increase year-on-year), Russia with 972 tons (up 2.8 times), and 24 tons to Azerbaijan (up by 12.6 percent).

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $14.6 billion in the January-November 2024 period, which is a 3.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. Exports rose by 21.3 percent to $3.465 billion, while imports decreased by 0.8 percent to $11.189 billion.
