BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 9. Kyrgyzstan produced a total of 856,433 tons of milk from January through June 2025, which is a 2.1 percent increase year-on-year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistical Agency shows that the average milk yield per cow during the reporting period amounted to 954.4 kilograms. Farms in the Chuy region reported the highest yield at 1.4 tons per cow, followed by Talas (1.075 tons) and Issyk-Kul (981.5 kg) regions, all exceeding the national average.
The gross output of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in Kyrgyzstan reached 117.636 billion soms (approximately $12.3 billion) in the first half of 2025, representing a 3.8 percent increase compared to the same period of 2024.
The livestock sector was the main growth driver for Kyrgyzstan, accounting for 79.3 percent of the total output. Crop production made up 14.8 percent, agricultural services 4.7 percent, fisheries 1.1 percent, and forestry 0.1 percent.
