BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 28. The total number of incoming transfers through international money transfer systems in Kyrgyzstan reached 2.87 million transactions worth 82 billion soms ($938 million) from April through June 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's National Bank shows that compared to the same period last year, the number of incoming transfers rose by 73.1 percent, while the volume increased by 61.7 percent.
At the same time, outgoing transfers amounted to 134,200 transactions totaling 13.6 billion soms ($115.5 million). This represents a 10 percent increase in the number of transfers and a 34.6 percent rise in volume year-on-year.
By region, Bishkek accounted for the largest share of transactions during Q2 2025- 34.9 percent of total incoming transfers and 72.3 percent of total outgoing transfers.
As of June 30, 2025, 21 commercial banks and 304 branches of commercial banks were operating in Kyrgyzstan. Five commercial banks provided services in accordance with Islamic banking and financing principles in both national and/or foreign currency.
