BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. Tajikistan imported from Türkiye plastic and plastic products for $10.1 million from January through March 2023, Trend reports via Turkish Statistical Institute.
According to the agency, the figure increased by 2.1 times over $4.6 million in 1Q2022. The largest amount of this type of product from Türkiye was imported by Tajikistan in January 2023 – for $4.2 million, and the least in February 2023 – for $1.8 million.
Overall, Tajikistan imported plastic and plastics products from Türkiye for $27.1 million in 2022, which is an increase over $23.9 million in 2021.
Meanwhile, according to the official Turkish statistics, trade turnover between Türkiye and Tajikistan amounted to $139.1 million in 1Q2023, which is an increase of 38.2 percent compared to $100.6 million in 1Q2022.
The exports from Tajikistan to Türkiye in the reporting period decreased by 10.6 percent year-on-year – from $45.1 million to $40.3 million.
At the same time, the imports by Tajikistan from Türkiye amounted to $98.7, increasing by 78 percent compared to $55.4 million in 1Q2022.
