DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 7. A cement production plant has been put into operation in Tajikistan's capital, Dushanbe, Trend reports.

Environmentally, the plant is designed to be eco-friendly, discharging no dust or black smoke into the atmosphere. It is outfitted with 50 air purifiers and filters meant to trap cement dust, which is subsequently recycled in secondary manufacturing processes.

The factory, which covers 35 hectares, houses numerous manufacturing and infrastructure facilities.

The plant has a daily capacity of 3,300 tons of cement and an annual output of 1.2 million tons. During the construction period, up to 1,200 specialists and workers were involved, and the facility now employs over 700 local professionals on a permanent basis.

Currently, there are 15 cement production facilities throughout the country, with 5 located in the Khatlon region, 6 in the Sugd region, 3 in districts under Tajikistan central government jurisdiction, and 1 in Dushanbe.

Now, Tajikistan is implementing an accelerated industrialization strategy for the years 2022–2026. In January 2022, President Rahmon declared this period as the 'Years of Industrial Development,' with ambitious plans to increase industrial production by 2.5 times within five years. The goal is to reach 95 billion somoni ($9.3 billion) by 2026, up from 38.8 billion somoni ($3.7 billion) in 2021.
