DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 16. Tajikistan's Khatlon region is ready to increase its exports to Kazakhstan, Davlatali Said, Head of the region, said, Trend reports.

This matter was discussed during his meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, Valikhan Turekhanov, and representatives from Kazakhstan's business and investment sectors.

During the meeting, both sides expressed their interest in establishing long-term relationships aimed at optimizing the region's potential. Kazakh entrepreneurs showed interest in increasing the import volumes of cotton, vegetables, and fruits from the region to Kazakhstan.

It was highlighted that Khatlon has long been renowned for its high-quality and environmentally friendly agricultural products. Last year, the region harvested 410,000 tons of early onions, a significant portion of which was exported to other countries, including Kazakhstan.

Annually, the region produces over 80,000 tons of cotton fiber, 55,000 hides of large and small livestock, and more than 6,000 tons of wool, with a substantial portion being exported abroad.

Earlier this month, discussions revolved around cooperation in industries such as agriculture and investments between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan's Sughd Region. The topic of economic cooperation was also addressed during a meeting between Ramesh Khudoyev, the regional director of KazakhExport JSC in Tajikistan, and the leadership of the Sughd region, and local entrepreneurs.
