DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 14. Three industrial enterprises were opened in the Lakhsh district of Tajikistan in the first half of 2024, the country's President Emomali Rahmon said, Trend reports via the presidential administration.
He made the statement during a meeting with local leaders and activists in honor of the 33rd anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence in Dushanbe today.
The president noted that currently, a total of eight industrial enterprises are operating in the district, and these results cannot be considered satisfactory.
Given the district's significant resources and potential, Rahmon emphasized the need for urgent action by local authorities and relevant ministries to address the existing shortcomings.
He also highlighted that over the past 33 years, 22 state investment projects worth over 700 million somoni ($65.7 million) have been implemented.
These projects include the construction, renovation, and equipping of schools; improvements in healthcare services; road construction and reconstruction; support for dehkan (farmers') households; agricultural development; and environmental protection.
Currently, four additional projects are underway, with 14 million somoni ($1.3 million) already invested.
