Processing industry gets lion's share of production in Tajikistan's Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 28. Processing industry accounted for 62.8 percent of the total industrial production from January through September 2024 in Dushanbe.

Data obtained by Trend from the country’s statistical agency shows that the total industrial output in the capital during the reporting period amounted to 3.6 billion somoni ($342.1 million), increasing by 22.1 percent or by 665.7 million somoni ($62.4 million).

Meanwhile, 34 percent of the total output fell on electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, followed by 1.6 percent on mining non-mineral building materials, water supply, sewage, waste management, and recycling.

To note, Tajikistan's total industrial production volume from January through September 2024 reached 36.3 billion somoni ($3.4 billion), up 15 percent from the first nine months of 2023.

The largest industrial centers of the country remained the Sughd region with 56.5 percent of total industrial production and the Khatlon region with a share of 23.4 percent.
