ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 19. The "Lebapgazchykarysh" department of Turkmengaz State Concern has significantly exceeded its natural gas production plan in Lebap province from January through September 2024, Trend reports via the official Turkmen media.

According to the media, 7.527 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to consumers, which is 43.5 million cubic meters more than planned.

This result was achieved through the rational use of existing fields and the exploration of new ones, including the commissioning of a gas compressor station at the Malay field. Ongoing repairs of existing wells and the exploration of new gas-bearing areas also contributed to this success.

One of the recent accomplishments was the discovery of a new gas field at the Tachmyradov site in the Chardjev district. Here, specialists from the "Lebapnebitgazguzleg" expedition of the "Turkmengeology" state corporation drilled a well and found substantial natural gas reserves at a depth of 2,500 meters. The capacity of the new field is 389,000 cubic meters of gas per day.

Additionally, drilling activities are actively underway at other sites in the Lebap region, including Chartak, Kolyaka, Tebigy, Demirgazyk, Koseshor, and Khazarly. Industrial gas flows have been achieved at several of these fields, confirming the region's significant potential for increasing natural gas production.
