Land for construction of gas filling stations will be no longer allocated in Uzbekistan starting from December 1, 2017, according to the resolution “On additional measures for developing network of compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations and phased transfer of vehicles to compressed natural gas, as well as ensuring safe use of compressed gas cylinders in vehicles.”
The resolution was adopted Oct. 11, 2017 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.
This decision will make it possible to additionally create 178 new CNG filling stations in Uzbekistan in 2017-2019 and transfer 800,400 vehicles to compressed gas.
At the same time, considering economic expediency, liquefied gas is increasingly used to meet the needs of population in remote regions of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the number of households using liquefied gas for own needs in Uzbekistan in 2010-2016 increased fourfold (from 599,100 to 2.55 million), respectively, the volume of supply of liquefied gas to the population increased eightfold (from 30,600 tons to 243,200 tons per year).
