Uzbekistan approves concept for dev’t of open data sector for 2021-2025

The concept for the development of the open data sector in Uzbekistan in 2021–2025 approved within the framework of the implementation of Digital Uzbekistan-2030 strategy, Trend reports referring to Norma information and legal portal.

In addition, the roadmap for the implementation of the concept of development of the open data sector in Uzbekistan for 2021–2025 in 2021 and regulations on the open data portal of Uzbekistan have been approved.

According to the information, the draft road map for the implementation of the concept of development of open data in Uzbekistan for the coming years will be developed and submitted by the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan annually by December 1 to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval by the Coordination Commission.

The Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications is the owner of the open data portal, as well as responsible for its technical support and smooth operation.

State Statistics Committee will be responsible for the formation, maintenance, and updating of the list of open data of state bodies and organizations and coordination of activities for the timely entry of information on the portal.

A plan-schedule for the gradual integration of the portal with e-government, information systems, and databases of ministries and departments, as well as a list of data, sets to be published on the portal will be developed and submitted for approval to the Coordination Commission within three months.

The Ministry of Information Technologies was instructed to develop and study the design and technical documentation for the development of a new version of the portal and ensure its launch by August 1, 2021.
