British Klinger UK plans to establish the implementation of joint projects on the territory of free economic zones of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek embassy in the UK.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK organized negotiations between representatives of the administration of the Syrdarya region and Gulistan free economic zone (FEZ) and the project director of the British Klinger UK, Oliver Bache.
It is reported that the parties discussed the prospects for establishing interaction and the implementation of joint projects on the territory of free economic zones of Uzbekistan.
In addition, mutual interest was expressed in the cooperation and organization of the visit of representatives of Klinger UK to Uzbekistan.
Founded in 1923, Klinger UK is part of the transnational Klinger Group, a global manufacturer and supplier of industrial seals, gaskets and valves widely used in the automotive, energy, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, chemical and pulp and paper industries and others. The company has production facilities in several countries and operates in 60 countries around the world.
Earlier State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reported that industrial products worth 27.8 trillion soums ($2.6 billion) were produced in 2020 in 18 free economic zones (FEZ), 77 directorates of small industrial zones (SIZ), 10 technology parks and 420 clusters of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, the volume of products (goods and services) exported from Uzbekistan totaled 6 trillion soums($567 million). It is noted that goods and services worth 1.8 trillion soums ($170 million) were exported from FEZ, 717.5 billion soums ($68 million) - from SIZ, 46.6 billion soums ($4.4 million) - from technology parks and 3.4 trillion soums ($322 million) from clusters.
