TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 24. Uzbekistan has produced 63.02 billion kWh of electricity from January through October of 2023, Trend reports.
As per data by Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, the recorded number reflects a 5.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.
Enterprises in Uzbekistan reduced thermal energy generation by 6.8 percent in the reporting period to 19.06 million Gcal.
Moreover, Uzbekistan produced 55.88 million cubic meters of underground coal gasification gas in the first 10 months of 2023, which is a 21.35 percent decrease compared to 67.81 million cubic meters produced ove the same period in 2022.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan plans to attract $7 billion of private investment to create an additional 9 GW of generating capacity.
The total volume of necessary investments in the electric power industry is estimated at $52 billion.
