Uzbekistan's leasing transactions volume increases

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 9. Uzbekistan's leasing companies concluded more than 7,500 new deals worth almost 4 trillion soums ($324.3 million) in 2023, which is 26 percent higher year-on-year, Trend reports.

In total, the volume of leasing operations in Uzbekistan reached 7.4 trillion soums ($600 million) in the past period.

To date, about 150 companies operate in the leasing services market of the country, while only 40 of them are actively engaged in leasing activities.

About 36.6 percent of transactions fall on the share of agricultural machinery. The share of motor vehicles in the total volume of transactions is 27 percent. Construction machinery and equipment occupy the third place with the share of 17.5 percent.

In 2023, the leaders in the market of lessors were Mikro Leasing (742.5 billion soums or $60.2 million), Uzbek Leasing International A.O. (604.7 billion soums or $49 million) and Orient Finance (434.3 billion soums or $35.2 million).

Meanwhile, the total authorized capital of insurance organizations in Uzbekistan amounted to more than 2.3 trillion soums ($186.4 million) in 2023, which is 22.6 percent more year-on-year.

As per data of Uzbekistan's National Agency of Perspective Projects, the volume of insurance companies' investments in the country's economy exceeded 6.2 trillion soums ($502.5 million). The growth amounted to 29.4 percent year-on-year.
