TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 16. Uzbekistan will launch the construction of solar stations with a total capacity of 400 MW in the Andijan region, Trend reports.

This was announced during a meeting held by the president of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the priority tasks of the socio-economic development of Andijan region in Khanabad.

Several energy projects, with the participation of foreign investors, will be implemented in Uzbekistan's Andijan region.

During the meeting, it was noted that, in cooperation with Chinese companies, it is planned to launch an electricity storage system with a capacity of 150 MW in Asaka.

The importance of completing the construction of three small and micro hydroelectric power plants within two years and launching two micro hydroelectric power plants with kinetic turbines on the Shakhrikhansoy canal in cooperation with Indian partners was also emphasized.

Meanwhile, a total of 122 major investment projects worth $50 billion will be launched in Uzbekistan this year.
