Uzbekistan reveals sales volume of passenger cars

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 12. About 92,000 passenger cars were sold in Uzbekistan in July 2024, which is 18.6 percent more than in June 2024, Trend reports.

At the same time, the passenger car market declined year-on-year, with sales down by more than 30 percent over the year.

The regional dynamics of passenger car sales show that in July the greatest growth was noted in Namangan, Qashqadaryo and Andijan regions, by 52 percent, 36 percent, and 29 percent, respectively.

In the primary passenger car market, sales in July increased by 17 percent compared to the previous month. In annual terms, sales declined by 12 percent.

Furthermore, the situation in the secondary market for passenger cars is really picking up steam, with sales skyrocketing month after month.

However, sales volumes are going down the drain in annual terms. In particular, in July, sales in the secondary market for passenger cars shot through the roof, increasing by a whopping 19.6 percent compared to the previous month. During the reporting period, approximately 61,500 cars flew off the shelves in this segment. All in all, sales took a nosedive of 37 percent compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, total vehicle sales in Uzbekistan in July increased by 17.4 percent to almost 102,000 units compared to June. Year-on-year, sales were down 29.4 percent.
