TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 29. Uzbekistan exported 162,000 tons of cabbage for a total of $42.7 million from January through August 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume has increased by 105.5 percent compared to the same period last year (78,800 tons in January–August 2023).
At the same time, the volume of cabbage exports from Uzbekistan has decreased to 1,200 tons in August 2024, compared to 1,300 tons in July 2024.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 1.3 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $922.8 million from January through August 2024. This figure has increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period last year (1.2 million tons from January through August 2023).
Russia became the largest importer of agricultural products from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 544,900 tons worth $407 million.
The exports of horticultural products accounted for 5.3 percent of Uzbekistan's total exports.
