TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 23. The total number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan grew to 5.7 million from January through September 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that this indicator increased by 16.8 percent (825,800 people) compared to the same period last year.
Out of all the countries, Tajikistan had the highest number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan in the past nine months of 2024—a staggering 1.6 million individuals.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan also came in second with 1.6 million people, followed by Kazakhstan (1.1 million), Russia (609,100 people), and Turkmenistan (120,400 people).
The citizens of Türkiye (84,300 people), China (50,400 people), India (48,600 people), South Korea (32,600 people), and Italy (30,300 people) also visited Uzbekistan during the nine months of this year.
To note, the tourist flow from Uzbekistan from January through September 2024 amounted to 4.5 million people, increasing by 35.8 percent (1.2 million people) year on year.
