TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 25. Uzbekistan's metro system transported 270.3 million passengers in 2024.
According to the data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure represents a significant increase of 98.3 million passengers, or 57.2 percent, compared to 2023.
Meanwhile, passenger traffic has consistently grown over the years, rising from 38.8 million in 2020 to 101.8 million in 2021, 136.7 million in 2022, and 172.0 million in 2023.
The sharp increase in 2024 highlights the metro’s expanding role in meeting the transportation needs of Tashkent’s growing population.
