TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 12. Uzbekistan’s Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company (NMMC) is accelerating the implementation of key investment projects aimed at increasing production and improving processing efficiency as part of its 2030 development strategy, Trend reports.
According to the company, one of the major initiatives is the Muruntau Mine Development, Phase V, Stage 2 project, which will significantly expand ore deliveries from the Muruntau deposit to Processing Plant №2.
Once completed, the project will enable annual ore deliveries of up to 60 million tons and mining volumes of up to 190 million cubic meters of rock.
Another strategic project is the expansion of Processing Plant №7, which will add 10 million tons of tailings processing capacity and introduce modern technologies to enhance energy efficiency.
Simultaneously, the tailings storage facility of Plant No. 2 is being reconstructed to ensure safe storage of waste until 2032.
The company is also progressing with the development of the Kokpatas and Daugyztau deposits. As part of this project, NMMC is acquiring 100 heavy mining machines to support the delivery of up to 10 million tons of ore annually to Processing Plant №3.
