BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in the Khorezm region, bringing together nearly 25,000 business representatives for the first time through district-based studios.

This was reflected in the statement on the Official channel of the Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Mirziyoyev congratulated Uzbekistan’s 1.2 million-strong business community on Entrepreneurs’ Day and highlighted its contribution to strengthening the country’s economy.

The president noted that the open dialogue with entrepreneurs, launched five years ago, has helped resolve thousands of issues that previously created obstacles for businesses.

During this period, authorities adopted 84 laws and 861 presidential decrees and resolutions aimed at improving the business environment and addressing entrepreneurs’ concerns.

“Why? To create conditions for our entrepreneurs, increase the number of jobs and enable our people to earn income in their own neighborhoods without having to go far from home,” Mirziyoyev said.

The president also highlighted the expansion of financing available to businesses. Over the past five years, the business lending portfolio has nearly tripled to 450 trillion soums (about $38 billion), providing companies with greater access to funding for development and expansion.

Entrepreneurs have also benefited from 650 trillion soums (around $54.7 billion) in tax and customs incentives, according to the Uzbek side.

In addition, Uzbek businesses have independently attracted $1 billion from foreign banks to finance their projects.

Mirziyoyev described the ability of entrepreneurs to secure foreign financing independently as another major milestone achieved by the country’s business community.

The president emphasized the role of private businesses in creating jobs, increasing household incomes and strengthening Uzbekistan’s economic capacity.

The open dialogue in Khorezm continues the government’s efforts to maintain direct communication with entrepreneurs and identify regulatory, financial and administrative barriers to business development.

The participation of tens of thousands of entrepreneurs through district studios also marks an expansion of the format, allowing businesses from across the region to raise their concerns and engage directly with the president.
