Iran declares volume of products imported to Razavi Khorasan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9. The import of non-oil products to Razavi Khorasan Province, located in the northeast of Iran, amounted to 68,000 tons worth $134 million during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024), controller of customs of Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province Javad Jafari said, Trend reports.

According to him, compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023), imports of products to Khorasan Razavi Province decreased by 18.2 percent in value and increased by 26.7 percent in weight terms.

Jafari added that the main products imported to the province included cotton, cell phones, gold bars, and captives.

The official stated that the products were imported from the UAE, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, China, and Türkiye.

"A total of 979,000 tons of products were transported through Razavi Khorasan province during 3 months. The transit of products increased by 39.1 percent compared to the same period last year. Thus, for the same period last year, the transit of products through the province amounted to 703,000 tons," he added.

However, during 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024), Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to 9.4 million tons worth $14.3 billion. During the 3 months, non-oil imports increased by 1.4 percent in value and 7.8 percent in weight compared to the same period of last year.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing the products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on the importation of products manufactured in the country.
