BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. The production volume of Iran's Hormozgan Steel Company increased by 4.3 percent in the first 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), executive director of Iran's Hormozgan Steel Company Ataullah Maroufkhani said, Trend reports.
According to him, the company produced 999,432 tons of products in 3 months. However, during the same period last year, the company's production was 958,192 tons.
Maroufkhani stated that the company produced 504,306 tons of sponge iron, 440,832 tons of steel, 24,849 tons of briquettes, and 29,445 tons of alkali during the mentioned period.
The official added that Hormozgan Steel Company is currently working on two major projects worth 2 billion euros. With the completion of these works, the company's steel production potential will increase to 3.3 million tons per year.
To note, Hormozgan Steel was established in 2006. The company can produce 1.5 million tons of slabs, 1.65 million tons of sponge iron, 90,000 tons of alkali, and so on.
