Lead concentrate production at Iran's Nakhlak mining complex ramps up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 12. The production of lead concentrate at the Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex located in Isfahan province increased by 51 percent during the first 3 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through June 21, 2023), head of Iran's Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex Alireza Khoshmagam said, Trend reports.

According to him, the complex produced more than 4,000 tons of lead concentrate in 3 months. However, during the same period last year, the complex produced 2,660 tons of lead concentrate.

Khoshmagam noted that the complex produced 124,000 tons of minerals during the 3 months. This is 30 percent more than the same period last year.

The official stated that about 5,000 meters of exploratory excavations have been carried out at the complex during the past three months. Exploration excavations increased by 25 percent compared to the same period last year.

To note, the Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex has a lead reserve of 1 million tons. It is expected that this reserve will increase to 3 million tons.
