BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Power generation of Iran’s Isfahan Thermal Power Plant (TPP) has grown by 45 percent from the start of the current Iranian year (March 20 through August 11, 2024), compared to the same period of last year, Executive Director of the Isfahan Power Generation Management Company Hossein Aminiyeh told reporters, Trend reports.

The director said that the power plant generated a total of 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the reporting period.

Efforts are undertaken to prevent electricity shortages in the province with the electricity production of the Isfahan TPP, he added.

The Isfahan TPP is located in an area of about 74 hectares. The power plant has five steam units and two gas blocks, which can generate 835 megawatt-hours and 42 megawatt-hours of electricity, respectively.

The plant supplies about two-thirds of Isfahan Province’s electricity needs.
