The value of sales of Iran's National Copper Industries Company products increased by 18 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023).
The data obtained by Trend from the country's National Copper Industries Company shows that sales of the company amounted to 675 trillion rials (about $1.52 billion) during six months.
Iran's National Copper Industries Company exported $239 million worth of copper and copper products over the course of six months. This figure was compared to 11 million during the same period last year. This indicates a 21-fold increase over the same period last year in just six months.
The National Copper Industries Company reports that during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), the company exported copper and copper products in Iran's rial.
Meanwhile, this process has been changed in the current year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), and now copper and copper products are exported in foreign currency.

Note that, according to the statement of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company, the country's copper reserves amount to 19 billion tons. Sarcheshmeh and Sungun are regarded as Iran's primary copper mines.
