BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 28. The export of cathode copper by the National Iranian Copper Industry Company amounted to about 53,000 tons worth $499 million during seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024), the statement of National Iranian Copper Industry Company said, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2024, through March 19, 2025), the cathode copper exports of the National Copper Industries Company amounted to 53,000 tons worth $452 million.
The direct export of copper cathode by the National Iranian Copper Industry Company for seven months stood at 9,480 tons worth $91 million.
Over the course of seven months, the Iranian Mercantile Exchange exported 43,500 tons of copper cathode worth $408 million.
To note, the National Iranian Copper Industry Company reports that the country has 19 billion tons of copper reserves. Iran's main copper mines are Sarcheshmeh and Sungun.
The National Iranian Copper Industry Company has set a target to increase the production of copper and copper products in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025).
