Production of cars by Iran Khodro business drops

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. The production of passenger cars by Iran Khodro company decreased by 4.3 percent (14,261 units) during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), the report of Codal, a company operating under Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization (codal.ir) said, Trend reports.

According to the report, Iran Khodro produced 327,045 cars during the eight months of this year against 341,306 in the same period last year.

The company's car sales totaled 322,607 units for the eight months, which is six percent less than the same period last year (342,360).

It produced 113,506 units of Peugeot, 71,492 units of Soren, 57,995 units of Dena, 11,222 units of Runna, 42,003 units of Tara, 9,689 units of Haima, and 19,138 units of other cars during the mentioned period.

To note, Iran's three major automobile manufacturers (Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Parskhodro) have produced a total of 621,497 cars during eight months of the current Iranian year, down four percent from the same period of 2023 (642,979 units).
