Production at Iran's Nakhlak mining complex surges

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. The production of lead concentrate at the Nakhlak lead mining complex in Iran's Isfahan province, located in the center, increased by 33 percent during seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023).

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) shows that the complex produced about 9,930 tons of lead concentrate during seven months. However, the complex produced 7,470 tons of lead concentrate during the same period last year.

The complex extracted a total of about 369,000 tons of minerals during seven months, a 39 percent increase compared to the same period last year when it produced 266,000 tons of minerals.

Over the seven months, 11,800 tons of lead concentrate were dispatched from the complex to various local companies. This is 59 percent more than in the same period last year. During the same period the previous year, 7,440 tons of lead concentrate were dispatched from the complex to various local companies.

To note, the Nakhlak mining complex has a lead reserve of one million tons. This stockpile is expected to increase to three million tons.
