Iran's South Pars Gas Company reveals gas supplies to country’s network

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 15. Iran's South Pars Gas Company is currently supplying more than 585 million cubic meters of gas daily to the country's gas network, the executive director of South Pars Gas Company, Gholamabbas Hosseini, told reporters, Trend reports.

Hosseini noted that the total amount of gas injected into the national network daily is 855 million cubic meters, indicating that South Pars Gas Company plays a significant role in Iran’s gas supply.

Hosseini further stated that the company operates 13 processing plants across two complexes. The first complex processes more than 333 million cubic meters of gas daily, while the second complex handles over 252 million cubic meters.

Since the beginning of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 11, 2024), more than 143 million cubic meters of gas have been supplied by South Pars Gas Company to the national gas network, according to the company official.

To note, South Pars Gas Company processes the rich gas produced from the South Pars gas field. More than 75 percent of the gas consumed in the country is supplied by this company. The company has 13 processing plants.

The company receives 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars field, processing 580 million cubic meters for delivery to Iran's gas network. Additionally, the company produces 780,000 barrels of gas condensate, 15,000 tons of ethane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane, and 2,500 tons of sulfur daily.

South Pars Gas Company obtains 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars gas field. The South Pars gas field (North Doma in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. This field has 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, of which 36 trillion cubic meters can be produced. Iran's share in this field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
